Product designers are responsible for giving form, function and meaning to a range of products that we use in our everyday lives. The creative and practical input provides the link between the consumer and the manufacturer. You will be encouraged to be creative and innovative and to integrate design with manufacturing. You will be introduced to the range of core design skills by undertaking studio-based design projects. This will be supported by study of materials and manufacturing technology, product visualisation, business and marketing. You will undertake a number of projects which explore product design from a user, cultural and manufacturing perspective; New product development, 3D computer modelling, model making and product prototyping.
