For entry on this course, you should have at least 5 GCSEs at Grade C including Maths and English (or equivalent to and subject to interview) or an Ed Excel First Diploma in Travel and Tourism (merit) plus Maths and English at grade C or above.

Course Content: The course will provide you with a thorough understanding of the Travel and Tourism Industry. Its aim is to provide you with the excellent skills and knowledge vital for a career within this industry and the option to enable you entry on a higher education programme.
The course will give you the opportunity to discover how and why businesses are developed and maintained; how to organise, cost and sell, destinations, products and services; and what job roles and responsibilities are available within the industry. This will be achieved through work experience, residential study visits and by completing assignments which are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands
Throughout the two years you will cover a range of exciting topics and gain valuable experience. The subjects and units include:
· Investigating the Travel and Tourism Industry
· Marketing
· Working as a Holiday Representative
· Customer Service
· Visitor Attractions
· Handling Air Passengers
· Cruise Industry
· Hospitality Industry
· Entertainment for Holidaymakers
· Work Experience and Key Skills
Special Features: The course provides students with an opportunity to develop skills, personal qualities and an attitude to succeed in working life. You will undertake a number of study visits, including overseas (subject to approval) where you will experience work in the Industry first hand. We ask for a £350 contribution for each year towards the costs of these visits and the resort rep uniform (worn in the second year)
Progression: On completing this course you will have the option of progressing into a career in any of the Travel and Tourism areas or further study towards a Foundation Degree or a Degree in Travel, Tourism, International Tourism and or Business Management.
