An Intermediate GNVQ in a related area e.g. business or health & social care at merit or above.

Study Method:
The BTEC National Diploma comprises of core and specialist units totalling 18, which will be achieved over two academic years.
Duration :Two year full-time study.
Who the Course is For:
The BTEC National Diploma in Unformed Public Services has been designed to introduce students to work within the public sector.
The programme would be of particular benefit to individuals who wish to enter and pursue a career in the following services:
The Ambulance Service
The Police Service
The Fire Service
The Prison Service
HM Customs & Excise
The Armed Forces, Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and the Marines.
Assessment:
The programme is continually assessed throughout the year and students are expected to produce portfolio assignments for each unit.
Students must complete and pass all components of study to achieve the award.
Course Leads To:
The aim of the qualification is to enable individuals to make an informed judgement of their own suitability to a career within a public service organisation.
Successful completion of the programme does not guarantee entry into the chosen service. However, we will liaise and work closely with the services to support students in applications to their chosen area.
The qualification is equivalent to 1 A Level.

This qualification gives learners the skills they need to understand the uniformed public services sector. These qualifications can also contribute towards applications for higher education where learners can pursue public services or special public service qualifications, for example a foundation or degree level qualification.
