About this course

5 GCSE grades A* - C are normally required, including English. Alternatively, a MERIT grade in BTEC First Diploma or GNVQ Intermediate in a relevant vocational area would also be suitable, normally supported by a GCSE grade C in English. You may also be required to take a diagnostic test to ensure you are suitable for the course.

Introduction to course
This is a two year course for students who are interested in entering the Sports and Fitness Industry or an allied area. The course comprises of a range of subjects that provides you with an in-depth understanding of the human anatomy and how to limit exposure to sports related injuries

Course Details
The course will contain topics such as nutrition, fitness and coaching, students will be expected to demonstrate what they have learnt through a range of sports related assignments and activities. Students may also be required to undertake two weeks industrial placement to support their college based learning. Students may also be given the opportunity to take a BTEC National Award or A level, such as psychology that would complement this course. Students may also have the opportunity to receive an industry recognised qualification.

Students that successfully complete this programme could apply for sports related degrees or enter into employment within the sports industry.
