The course is ideal for you if you wish to pursue a career in an office environment, by encouraging you to demonstrate your competence in a business environment.

Entry Requirements
You will need 2 GCSE grades D or above in English and maths (or equivalent). You will also have to be employed within the industry.

Course Duration
Apprenticeship Level 2 is 12-14 months Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 is 12-15 months.

Skills and Benefits
An Apprenticeship is a work based learning course, where you attend college for one day a week to gain a vocational qualification and complete paid work with an employer for the remaining duration of the working week. This course is designed to reflect the work of administration staff across a wide range of industries and types of organisation and is for those who are working with some autonomy and responsibility. It is aimed at those who want to work as part of a team and ensure the provision of information and resources to others.

Mandatory Units
The course is made up of four mandatory units which include: Communicate in a Business Environment Understand Employer Organisations Principles of Providing Administrative Services Principles of Business Document Production and Information Management Manage Personal Performance and Development Develop Working Relationships with Colleagues

Optional Units
Functional Skills: English Level 1, Level 1 Maths and IT Level 1 also Employment Rights and Responsibility (ERR).

Course Assessment
Through a portfolio of evidence and observations in the workplace, and in some cases there are timed written assessments. You will work towards an NVQ, Technical Certificates and Functional Skills where appropriate. You will also be expected to complete the Employer Rights and Responsibilities framework.

Progression
You could progress to Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3.
