  • As the Director I was encouraged to undertake a qualification as part of the service SDL provide. My staff undertook L2s and I was persuaded to undertake the Level 4 - what a worthwhile expereince this has been! Very interested in seeing how the process works first-hand and also has enabled me to develop a new structure to the business with qualifications targetting specific levels/duties. Extremely pleased with the support and business-sense that SDL provided and will certainly continue to do so as they have completely changed my mind about training providers and the qualifications offered - their knowledge and also impartiality creates and supports this throughout and a pleasure doing business with them. No politics, funding issues, eligibility or rhetoric.

The NVQ is made up of 6 mandatory units: 1:Manage and be accountable for own performance in a business environment, 2: Evaluate & improve own performance, 3: Support the purposes and values of the organisation, 4: Support sustainability in a business environment, 5: Assess, manage and monitor risk in business, 6: Communicate in a busines environment plus a choice of 44 Optional units! 20 credits from mandatory + at least 10 from optionals for Certificate. Mandatories plus at least 19 credits for Diploma! Suitable for: Suitable for those whose role involves management of systems and resources and working with a high level of autonomy. This qualification is for those who are working autonomously and taking responsibility. It is for candidates who are developing, implementing and monitoring administrative services within a wide range of organisation types.The qualification is flexible and allows progression and is adaptable to many roles in business.

About this course

No formal entry requirements but will require a job role that can provide the required evidence and opportunities for assessment. must be at least 18 years old and possession of a level 3 is useful. Can provide progression to a Diploma in Business Administration other areas such as Customer Service and also Management.

Course programme

A suitable qualification for those involved in managing & being accountable for adminstration services in many contexts. 44 Optional units allow individuals to provide evidence of competency in a wide range of duties and expertise. You will be in role where you are able to make decisions and also to monitor and review effectiveness, be working at a senior level and maintaining admistrative services etc. Duties will include: managing an office facility, managing contracts, negotiting & agreeing budgets, informing & facilitating corporate decision making, recruitment, tendering & selecting contractors, event management, strategies and policies and chairing meetings etc.
