Who is the course for?
This course is suitable for school leavers who are interested in a career in business. It is a practical, work-related course. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace business situations. The course introduces you to particular areas of employment and provides a good basis to go on to a more advanced business related qualification and employment.

A BTEC First Diploma is eqivalent to 4 GCSEs grades A*-C

What is the course about?
The course is made up of six units, including:

Exploring business purposes
Developing customer relations
Investigating financial control

Will I need anything else?
No specialist equipment is required.

How long & often do I attend?
A one year course requiring attendance throughout the week.

How will I be assessed?
All units are assessed by coursework, and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded to all learners who successfully complete all units. Grades awarded are Pass, Merit or Distinction.

What opportunities will this lead to?
If successful you could progress to the BTEC National Diploma in Business or enter employment within an office environment as a general office worker, or become a Modern Apprentice in Administration or Accountancy.
