What's it all about?:
If you are interested in how businesses work on a day-to-day basis, then take a look at our business focused course where you will develop work-related skills. It is a good preparation if you are beginning to think about gaining employment with an organisation, or if you have dreams of starting your own business in the future.

Progression:
Upon successful completion you may progress to the BTEC National Diploma in Business or another level 3 course at the College.

Entry Requirements:
In our experience in order to be successful on this course you will need one of the following:
• four GCSEs at grades D-F (including English and maths)
• a BTEC introductory diploma
• an NVQ Level 1/technical certificate
• successful completion of the Gateway/Newstart course
• successful completion of the E2E/Prince's Trust course
• equivalent qualifications or relevant work experience.

What does the course involve?:

This course consists of the following six units:
• introduction to business activity
• exploring business purposes
• investigating financial control
• business communication
• administration
• business on line.

Monday - Friday

Are there any exams?:
Course units will be internally assessed by assignments.

If you are aged 16-18, due to Government funding, tuition fees are not applicable for your course (Please note: this does not apply to foundation degrees).

Please note that fees quoted apply to courses starting in the academic year 2009/10 (August 2009 - July 2010). There may be a slight increase in fees for courses starting 2010/11.
