Basic written English.
Description
This
short course is designed for people who are progressing in business and
who require a higher level of spoken and written English than they are
practiced in using.
Businesses demand a variety of written and
spoken styles during normal activities. This course aims to address the
many different styles and approaches required by the business professional
of the twenty first century.

course will be tailor-made to suit the requirements of students.
Sample
themes may include:
- electronic communication
- report writing

- verbal communication skills
Language
Focus:
Guidance on the following will be provided:
- Register:
establishing the appropriate tone for verbal and written communication

writing in an appropriate register and style to suit the audience and
purpose of the communication
- reinforce basic grammatical and
punctuation rules
- expansion of vocabulary
Skills Focus:
After
completing this course you should be able to:
- Communicate more
effectively in the workplace, with colleagues and customers, both orally
and in writing
Where a course is aimed towards an
assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for
the qualification.
Method of Assessment
There is no external
assessment, but students will receive a Certificate of Achievement.
Progression
This
course is self-contained, or it may lead to a further short course if
students desire, in which further topic areas will be covered.

You will be asked to provide yourself with the course
book(s) advised by your tutor.
