The City School of Commerce & Technology is now able to offer three high quality and internationally recognized study programmes. This is possible through our accreditation with The Association of Business Executives (ABE). ABE are market leaders in the cost-effective provision of quality assured British management education. ABE qualifications are recognized as accepted routes onto the later stages of a number of UK and overseas university qualifications, including Bachelor and Master Degrees. ABE qualifications are also recognized as accepted routes onto other UK and overseas professional qualifications. Holders of an ABE qualification may obtain subject exemptions in the examinations of these professional bodies..

Applicants must have obtained one of the following:

• ABE Diploma
• A UK Honours Degree or Overseas equivalent
• Other recognised qualifications of approved Overseas Institutes of Higher Education

The decision of the Council as to the suitability of the candidate shall be final.

There is an increasing need for highly computer literate business professionals who can develop business applications using spreadsheets, databases etc. and can work confidently with their IT colleagues. Holders of both the Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Business Information Systems will have a firm grounding in the essential core IT and business skills and will be able to build bridges between technology and business practice.
There is now a real demand for a new kind of highly computer literate business professional who can take responsibility for developing many day to day business applications using spreadsheets, databases and other rapid application development packages. Such individuals need to be able to help specify new and secure systems, to be able to work confidently with their IT colleagues on a larger scale project, and to understand the business potential for networking and the Internet.

Holders of both the Diploma and the Advanced Diploma in Business Information Systems will also have had a firm grounding in the essential core business skills. ABE Business Information Systems professionals will be people who can build bridges between technology and business practice. We do not see them as “techies” who spend long and lonely hours programming computers, although programming will certainly be one of the important skills in their repertoire. They are more likely to be communicative and articulate members of a team that brings a variety of skills to bear in the development of new and innovative business projects.
