Course Content:
This course covers the main aspects of law which has an influence on small business administration.

Contracts of Employment: Formation of the Contract of Employment.

Recruitment and Selection: Employment status, fixed-term or indefinite contract, part-time or full-time, probationary period, temporary employees or agency staff

Pay issues: the duty to pay wages, the national minimum wage; pay and sickness; statutory sick pay, suspension on medical grounds

Discrimination against employees:

Health and Safety at Work:

Unfair dismissal; Potential fair reasons and the concept of reasonableness

Redundancy: The definition of redundancy, offers of alternative employment, unfair redundancy, consultation.
Assessment Methods:
Learners will be assessed during and at the end of the course by activities, observations and presentations
