The BTEC First Diploma in Business comprises of six units (three
compulsory and three optional).

Exploring Business Purpose (Portfolio)
Developing Customer Relations (Portfolio)
Investigating Financial Control (Portfolio)

Optional Units
Exploring Marketing in Travel & Tourism (Portfolio)
Doing Business Online (Portfolio)
Starting a Small Business (Portfolio)All six units are centre assessed and are externally moderated. There are no timetabled exams for this qualification. The full award and units from this qualification are graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction. Key Skills opportunities exist for the achievement of Communication and Working with Others at Level 2. These are integrated and will be delivered as part of the course. They will be separately recorded and certified.Students gaining a BTEC First Diploma will have access to a range of career and further education opportunities. You will learn and use a variety of skills throughout the course, including collecting, analysing and interpreting data, communicating your findings in different ways, and identifying and developing the links between different parts of the subject. These skills are in great demand and are recognised and highly valued by employers and colleges. BTEC First Diploma in Business can combine well with GCSEs, NVQs, other BTEC Awards and industry-related qualifications. Combined with any of these qualifications it supports applications for the BTEC National in Business or other similar qualifications in related subject areas.
