Who is this course for?

Knowledge of business studies is helpful but not essential

How long is this course for?

'AS' Level - 1 year, 5 hours per week
'A' Level - 2 years, 5 hours per week

What will I study?
'AS' Level comprises two modules:

• The Competitive Business
• Managing Business Resources

'A' Level requires two more modules studied to a higher level in the second year:

• Making Business Decisions
• The Changing Business Environment

How will I be assessed?
AS 1 - 2 compulsory structured data responses (40 marks), 1 hour 30 mins, 50% of AS 25% of 'A' Level

AS 2 - 2 compulsory structured data responses (40 marks), 1 hour 30 mins, 50% of AS 25% of 'A' Level.

A2 1 - 1 compulsory structured data response (80 marks), 2 hours 50% of A2 25% of 'A' Level

A2 2 - Unseen case study with problem - solving / decision making focus (80 marks) 50% of A2 25% of 'A' Level.

All AS and A2 Modules are available both January and June.

What can I do after the course?

Business Studies is related to a number of degree and HND course areas such as Accounting, Business, Finance, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Media Studies, Engineering Management, Secondary Teaching and many other areas. Business Studies is very useful if you wish to go straight into employment, start up your own business or help to run your family business.
