Course Description:
Architects, engineers, drafters, and other professionals involved with design use AutoCAD, by itself and with add-on applications, to create, view, manage, plot or output, share, and reuse accurate, information-rich drawings.

Description Breakdown:
This unit covers 8 learning out comes. The student will be able to use:

1. associated IT, CAD hardware and operating systems

2. basic file management techniques and maintain Health & Safety requirements

3. and identify key components of the software relating to the 2D drawing environment

4. a range of viewing commands and set up the drawing space

5. drawing commands to produce shapes

6. CAD software†s co-ordinate system to aid accurate drawing

7. hatch, text and simple dimensioning routines

8. basic editing commands and produce simple hard copies.
