CACHE Diploma in Child Care and Education Level 3

The CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education is a full-time qualification lasting two years. It is aimed at people who are seeking to become a qualified Early Years worker. The Diploma gives a qualifcation which is required for working within a range of settings across the sector of Childrens Services.
The award covers working with children from 0-16 years in an unsupervised or supervisory capacity. The course includes a range of practical work experience opportunities as well as academic work placements which are organised by the College
Entry Requirements5 GCSE's Grade C or above including English Language or an equivalent such as BTEC First Diploma in Childrens Care, Learning and Development at Merit or above, or CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education Level 2 at Merit Level or above.
You will also need Key Skills Communication at Level 2.
Course Content
The course consists of 12 units of study including subjects such as;·Development from conception to age 16 years
·The principles underpinning the role of the practioner working with children
·Promoting a healthy environment for children
·Development of professional skills within childrens education

How will I be assessed?
Assessment through 11 marked assignments
Portfolio of professional development records
First year short answer test paper based on a case study
Second year externally assessed research task.
What can I do next?
Work as:
A qualified Early Years worker in a variety of settings in the Early Years Sector or a qualified Nanny.
Enter Higher Education as the course carries up to 360 Ucas points.
Progression to Nursing, Teaching or Social Work.
