2. Course description This qualification has been designed for students who want to work in early year's childcare and education as an Early Years Educator. The high level of skills required to achieve this qualification also enables students to progress to Higher Education (UCAS tariff points available) Upon achievement of this qualification it is intended that students will progress onto the Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education which on completion will enable progression into Higher Education. There is also the option to step off at Certificate and gain employment in a supervised early year's role or top up A levels and progress to Higher Education sooner.

3. Entry requirements -Collect all of the information required for a DBS(Disclosure and Barring Service) -Ask for two positive references. One must be from your last place of education or training -4 GCSE's including Grade B in English and C in Maths At interview you will need to: -Show evidence of current or projected GCSE results - you are required to have four GCSEs at minimum grade C. This must include a B or grade5/6 in English Language and C or grade 4 in maths -Demonstrate level 2 English in the assessment and interview which includes speaking, listening, reading and writing -Complete a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) -Show that you are motivated, committed and have excellent punctuality and attendance -Provide two positive references -Present a Record of Achievement from your last school 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method In order to achieve the CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Childcare and Education (VRQ) you must complete 8 mandatory units and an Effective Practice Study Task (externally set, externally marked).
