Matthew Toothill

Matthew is one of our experienced tutors here at The Learning College. Matthew joined the college with a view of assisting many learners gain a qualification as a Teaching Assistant via our bespoke online learning platform. Matthew is a PGCE Qualified teacher and carries a wealth of experience. This experience has been and is used on each and every lesson he is involved in to ensure each learner maximises his/her learning outcomes. Matthew is currently working within schools which enables him to keep up to date with legislation and changes made by the Department for Education.
Course programme
What does the qualification cover?
These qualifications will provide an understanding of the knowledge needed when working directly with children or young people in primary, secondary or special schools. They include learning about children and young people’s development, safeguarding their welfare and communication.
Who is it suitable for?
The Award is suitable for those not yet working in a Level 3 school role but could achieve at this Level. It is also suitable as initial training. The Level 3 Certificate is suitable for those working in unsupervised roles that support pupils’ learning.
How are they assessed?
They will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or tasks.
What are the entry requirements?
You should be at least 16 years old. CACHE does not set any other entry requirements however as a training provider you will be required to complete out Literacy & Numeracy tests.
How many credits are required to complete the course?
The Award requires 12 credits and the Certificate requires 32. Credits from the Award can be carried over and counted towards the Certificate.
