To gain the Diploma you are required to complete and pass core units 1, 2, 3 and one optional unit at pass level or above. This course is designed for students who are already working with children either in a supervisory capacity or non-supervised role.
The qualification is for those who wish to work in a managerial role.

You want to be qualified practitioner involved in preparing your setting for accredited quality assurance schemes or statutory inspections.

This course provides an opportunity for qualified practitioners to enhance and develop their knowledge and understanding of the sector at an advanced level.

Provides candidates with the opportunity to critically evaluate the processes that need to be followed in order to achieve the highest possible quality standards within the setting in which you work.

Examines accredited quality assurance schemes and the statutory inspection process.

Provides an in-depth knowledge and understanding of how a work setting can raise the quality of its practice.

Provides professional development for practitioners who have responsibility for quality assurance.

May be used in a range of settings including day nurseries, child-minding settings, nursery classes, pre-school playgroups, play work settings.

And designed in partnership with the National Day Nurseries Association.

What you will be studying

This Level 4 course consists of two units; both of which are compulsory. To gain the certificate you are required to complete and pass both units, with a pass or above.

Core Unit 1 Establishing, maintaining & improving quality standards in Children's Services.


Core Unit 2 Managing the statutory inspection process in Children's services.

How will you be assessed on the course?

You will be required to do one assignment for each unit. You will be given a deadline for each assignment.

Will I receive support?

Study skills are embedded into the course. Your tutor will also cover study skills such as report writing, note taking, research skills and reading skills. Ultimately, you are also expected to study independently, but your tutor will assist you where possible.

How long is the course?
