3. Entry requirements It is essential that the candidate is already in a placement and have at least 3 months continuous experience working a minimum of 12 hours per week before commencing on the programme. Personal roles and responsibilities within the setting will be discussed in detail at interview. -You must be involved in child observation in the setting and to use this experience to contribute to evaluation and future planning. -You must have read the setting's Child Protection Policy and understand your role within this -A minimum Level 1 Literacy is required. An initial assessment will be undertaken to determine levels of literacy prior to interview -You will require skills to communicate with children at various stages in their development and with teachers, parents, carers and other professionals. You will also need the ability to communicate on a one to one basisand in group discussion -Good organisational and time management skills are essential in order to plan and achieve this award within the timescale. It is essential you demonstrate commitment to this course through high motivation, including full attendance and independent study.
