Café Skills- Beginners' starter course

The focus is primarily on the practical aspects of practical cafe work, allowing you to develop real skills that are transferable into a number of jobs. You will also explore the importance of using fresh produce to compile basic healthy dishes.

It will allow you to find out more about the catering and hospitality industry as you undertake some practical sessions including some café work, some practical barista work to teach you how to make and deliver perfect hot drinks as well as the chance to get hands on in the kitchen preparing fresh, home cooked dishes. As well as meeting an employer to ask them about their experiences, you will also prepare, make a sample a number of cafe style dishes including, for example; fresh sandwiches, lasagne, curries, stews and chilli.
