Cake decoration has become a highly technical skill, but it is well within the reach of every enthusiast from beginner to advanced level, provided one makes or bakes a good base, preferably a madeira or fruit cake. You will learn how to achieve a professional finish using the modern soft icing from supermarkets, or icings you prepare yourself and tools from specialist cake decorating shops.
