About this course
There are no formal entry requirements, you will however need to attend an interview and undertake both diagnostic testing and the CITB Aptitude Test. This ensures your basic skills are at the appropriate level for this course.

What will I study?
Performing Carpentry and Joinery tasks of a non-complex nature, these include safe working practices, quantities and communicating with others, building methods and construction technology, basic carpentry & joinery skills, use of carpentry and joinery hand tools and portable power tools. You will also learn functional skills which are English, Maths and ICT as required.
How will I learn?
Your individual learning plan will help you learn in a way that best suits your needs. You will agree a work programme with your tutor, which will include the setting of individually assessed tasks, periodic reviews and tutorials.
How will I be assessed?
Progressive assessments of all course elements are carried out on an individual basis. All assessments contribute towards course units, which will build for certification. There is also an external touch screen test.
Where could it lead?
The course will provide you with the necessary skills, training and knowledge to progress to either Bench or Site Carpentry at Level 2, become an Apprentice Carpenter and Joiner or gain employment in the construction industry.
