Carpentry Level 2 Diploma

Course Overview
This course is aimed at candidates who have already achieved the Level 1 Carpentry Diploma & wish to progress to the next level to further enhance their skills and knowledge.

Course Structure
This is a one year course with attendance at college for two days per week
Some topics covered include:

• Safe working practices
• Building methods
• Quantities and communication
• Hand skills
• Maintaining tools and equipment
• Handle and store materials
• Site carpentry or bench joinery skills
• Prepare and use power tools

Qualification Aims
Successful candidates will achieve the Level 2 diploma (in either Site Carpentry or Bench joinery)

Assessments/Examinations
There is continuous assessment throughout the course
Set assignments
One externally set online test

Cost / Equipment
Tuition fee£495
Tuition is free to those aged 16-18 years
Free tuition is available for those over 19 in receipt of certain benefits or to their unwaged dependants
Equipment required:

• Steel toecap boots
• Simple calculator
• Set squares 30'/60' & 45' (large)
• Scale rule
• 2H pencils
• A4 note pad
