What's it all about?:

Progression:
On successful completion you will have the opportunity to apply for a day release Apprenticeship course with the College or employment in a range of catering jobs including food services assistant, assistant chef or kitchen porter.

There are no specific entry requirements. However, you will be invited to attend an informal interview to assess your suitability for the course.

What does the course involve?:
The course includes the following topics:
• general catering studies
• food service
• practical cookery
• baking skills
• basic kitchen operations
• information technology
• communication
• numeracy
• work skills and careers education.
When can I study?:
Monday to Friday, times vary
Are there any exams?:
You will be taught the skills and assessed for:
• NVQ Level 1 Food and Drink Service (year one)
• NVQ Level 1 Food Preparation and Cooking (year two)
• Essential Food Hygiene Certificate
• health and safety.

Instalments are available for course fees. A deposit of £425.00 per year is payable before enrolment followed by three monthly payments of £425.00 per year

If you are aged 16-18, due to Government funding, tuition fees are not applicable for your course (Please note: this does not apply to foundation degrees).
