CELTA Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults

The course focuses on teaching and learning strategies for EFL/ESOL and is mainly practically based. You will need to allow extra time for independent study and preparation outside the taught course.

The course is suitable for native and non-native speakers with excellent personal use of English. Candidates should have a level of education equivalent to that required for university entrance (e.g. A Levels) or a university degree. Previous teaching knowledge or experience is not required but suitability for the course will be determined through selection tasks and interview. These include tests of written and spoken language as well as language awareness.

Continuous assessment of teaching in Teaching Practice classes, along with four written assignments.

On completion, you will have an internationally recognised qualification as an English teacher, so you can combine travel with work. You may also want to consider progression to Diploma level.
