If you are a mature student wishing to learn about all aspects of pottery at a level suitable for your experience whilst meeting people with similar interests, then this course will be perfect for you.
What qualifications or experience do I need ?No formal qualifications are required, but commitment and enthusiasm are essential.
What will I study ?The course programme covers all the processes of hand built and wheel-thrown pottery. * Use of studio, clay preparation and safe practice * Pinch pots * Coil pots * Slab work (including moulds) * Using the potters' wheel (throwing) * Glazing * Decoration * Sculpting and Modelling To cover all the topics to any depth you will need to take repeat courses. As a beginner you can expect to sample most of the topics.
How will I be assessed ?There is no formal assessment.
What qualifications could I achieve ?College Certificate.
How do I join the course ?Enrol online, by telephone, post in a enrolment form or enrol in person at the College.
