Ceramics and Glass Level 1

Course content
Level one:
This course will introduce you to ceramics and glass fusing. You will explore various hand building and glazing techniques and discover basic techniques of fusing glass to create some beautiful results. Each ten week courses will focus on a different technique:

Course one: Introduction to Ceramics
The course provides opportunity for individual expression, introducing the basic skills required to realise your ideas in ceramic medium. It will introduce you to slab building construction in clay, with particular attention to surface treatment (textures) and decorating with slips, body stains and glazes.

Teaching

Demonstration/group and individual teaching. Projects can be set for whole group or individuals following discussion with student/s.

Equipment and materials costs

Most materials are covered by your course fee although, depending on the amount you use, you may have to buy glass as this is expensive.
