Ceramics and Pottery Beginners - Hand Built
Summary
This course will introduce students with no previous experience of handling clay, to the basics of clay, pot making and decoration while encouraging imagination and fun. There is no substitute for hands-on practice to build your confidence and hone your skills. The class will progress at a relaxed pace allowing students to discover the pleasure of working with clay.
About the Course
Will cover slab building, press and jump mold work, work with texture, some modelling/sculptural work and decorating with coloured slips etc.
Students will learn how to work with clay and glazes safely.

Are there any resources to obtain?
A 'plastic' (pvc) apron and your own rubber gloves if you have an allergy to medical ones.
A few tools and rolling cloth will be required.

A Fee: £96.45, B Fee: £ 91.65, C Fee: £40.80
Are there any other costs?
Approximately £5 to £10 per term for clay. This is an estimate and will be discussed with the tutor during the first few meetings. Students may wish to purchase their own tools but this is optional.

A workshop, plaster molds and a variety of tools.
