What is this course about? This is a structured course aimed at improving and refining skills, broadening the range of ceramic techniques and knowledge of materials and processes, alongside contextual, design and visual language studies.

Who is this course for? Students who wish to improve both their skills and knowledge of ceramics.

What do I need to get on the course? Level 1 qualification or equivalent

What will I study? The course is made up of 6 units. Projects cover a wide range of ceramic techniques, materials and processes - including mould-making, slip-casting, printing and raku - underpinned by contextual, design and visual language studies. Some multimedia - digital photography, photoshop and powerpoint - is included. Regular visits to exhibitions etc.

What qualification will I get? BTEC First Diploma in Art and Design

What can I do after the course? You can progress on to a Level 3 course or come to a ceramics workshop
