This is a stimulating and fulfilling workshop for experienced students who have achieved level 2 or above, giving opportunities to develop existing skills and work on self directed projects.

Guidance is given on all aspects of the ceramics and pottery processes with individual and group tuition

Example of programme content to include: 

Coiling
Slabbing
Creative use of moulds
Slip casting
Mould making
Exploring paper clays
Throwing techniques and processes
Turning
Surface decoration using coloured slips and oxides
Finishing and glazing techniques
Smoke firing

Prior experience is necessary. Informal interview with the course tutor

Materials/equipment:

Equipment including hand tools are provided. There will be a charge for clay which is to be purchased from the course tutor. This will be discussed at the first session.
