CERTIFICATE IN BASIC CONSTRUCTION SKILLS

You will study basic construction skills to include carpentry, plumbing and guttering. You will also be working on improving your Maths, English and ICT skills and at the same time keeping a record of the activities completed. During the course you will also receive support from a tutor to complete your tasks and progress.An interest in the construction industry, happy to work outdoors and to develop your Maths, English and ICT skills.On completing this course in full and receiving a good reference from your tutor, you will be able to progress on to one of the following: Level 1 Brickwork Level 1 Carpentry and Joinery Level 1 Building services Level 1 Painting and Decorating Level 1 PlasteringYou will have the chance to learn the theory and practical skills for a range of construction areas. To pass the course you will need to complete practical tasks to the required standard of the awarding body. Your tutor will help you to prepare for these. At the same time you will be improving your wider skills such as Maths, Writing, ICT and recording your own progress. These are all skills you will need to progress to the next level as well as a good reference from tutor.
