To be accepted on this course you must be :
• a holder of an approved recognised professional qualification
• employed in teaching or training for a minimum of 60 hours in each year of the programme
• educated to an appropriate general level including level 2 English/literacy and Maths/numeracy.
• PGCE students must be educated to degree level.

Who The Course is for
This is a competence based course, designed for people who want to teach or train in the post-compulsory sector. This includes Further Education Colleges, Higher Education Colleges, Evening Centres, Community Centres, Training Institutions and Workbased Training.
Course Content
The programme focuses on:

-Implementation of Learning Strategies

-Inclusive Education
-FE Issues
Each of the modules will have an associated assignment. Students will be observed in their normal teaching or training, by approved workbased assessors of the University of Central Lancashire.
Entry RequirementsLearning & Assessment Methods
Assessment includes - a series of assignments - the claiming of a list of competencies - Teaching Observations. PGCE students will be required to do one extra assignment in the second year.
Qualifications Gained
Post Graduate Certificate in Education, in association with University of Central Lancashire.
Progression Opportunities
On completion of the PGCE, students will be able to choose to study towards a Postgradate Diploma or Masters Degree in post-compulsory education and training.
Career Opportunities
This qualification will allow successful students to train and teach in Further Education Colleges, Higher Education Colleges, Evening Centres, Community Centres, Training Institutions and Workbased Training.
