About this course

There are no entry requires however, you should have an interest in welding and fabrication.

City and Guilds Certificate in Engineering (QCF) Level 1, you can also achieve functional skills at the relevant level.

What will I study on the course?

You will learn about engineering fabrication and welding technology. Ideal if you are interested in gaining an Apprenticeship in the welding and fabrication industry, as this course is a good introduction to the industry. You will study a number of units such as working in engineering, engineering technology, fabrication and welding technology, welding by various processes, fabricating thick plate, bar and sections.

Additional information

The course is delivered as a programme of study 3 days a week over one year. The course consists of three mandatory and two specialist units (five units in total). All of the units have been selected by the engineering team in collaboration with the local employers.. The course starts in early September and finishes in June
