CERTIFICATE IN PALLIATIVE CARE
Entry Requirements
Candidates wishing to undertake this award should hold or be working towards an appropriate level 2 qualification and be working with palliative care clients.
Description
The Certificate in Palliative Care is a level 3 programme providing a nationally recognised qualification. The candidate will gain an understanding of supporting the dying person and their family in both community and care settings.
Course Content
There are 4 modules for successful completion of this course:
· Understanding palliative care
· Applying a whole person approach to palliative care
· Supporting a person with their physical care needs
· Care during the final hours of life and bereavement care
Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.
Method of Assessment
Assessment is through the completion of assignments and activities relating to each module, which are marked and moderated by BCOT prior to certification.
