Course programme
Course description: This is an in-service, level 3 course for learning support practitioners who support learning in a wide range of environments in the learning and skills sector (not schools). It enables practitioners to learn, develop and practise skills in learning support.
It covers aspects of learning support, such as:
the role of the learning support practitioner
key features of an inclusive learning environment
learning support in different contexts
what makes effective learning
how to promote self-advocacy and independent learning
We will be offering this year long course on Tuesday evening, 5pm -7pm.
Entry requirements: Applicants should satisfy the following entry requirements:
Literacy skills at level 2
Numeracy skills at level 2, or willingness to work towards
Access to 30 hours of learning support practice already in place
Willingness to complete work in your own time
Assessment: Assessment is via:
portfolio of reflective assignments
a minimum of three observations of your practice
Career progression: Some practitioners progress into teaching, or into specialist support roles
Course fee for whole course: £900.00
