About this course
Participants will need to have a minimum of three years post-qualification experience and be currently working as counsellors and psychotherapists. Participants will need to:
1. To have both supervisees and supervisory supervision;
2. Completing a minimum of 15 hours of supervision work in order to achieve the qualification.

Shirani Situnayake (NCS Prof Accred) I am a Person-Centered Counsellor, Supervisor, Equine Assisted Therapist, Trainer and Group Facilitator with extensive experience of client work, facilitating groups and teaching trainees and qualified therapists. As a trainer I have facilitated groups in a variety of settings including: Adult Education Colleges, charities, private colleges and private practices. These groups covered a wide range of subjects such as: Counselling, Supervision, Professional Development for counsellors and psychotherapists, drumming and Equine Assisted Therapy groups.
Course programme
This course is open to practitioners from all theoretical backgrounds wishing to start supervising counsellors and psychotherapists or already have experience and wish to gain a formal qualification.
This 10 day (Saturdays) training will cover the followings:
· Theory and practice of supervision
· The supervisory relationship
· Legal issues
· Diversity in supervision
· Ethical dilemmas
· Group and one-to-one supervision
· Working across modalities
· Skills and practice
The aim of the course is to allow participants to develop a reflective, evaluative and informed practice which will enable them to work with supervisees across theoretical backgrounds.
Participants will be supported in developing their competencies and abilities in evaluating their own practice.
