The Distance Learning Certificate in Understanding Working in Mental Health course is an ideal introductory program for anybody who may be considering a career in this sector and it is also beneficial for those who may have recently started work in the mental health sector and want to extend their personal and professional development or improve their career prospects.

You do not need any prior learning knowledge or experience to take this course. This course is openly available to anyone who wishes to take part in a highly rewarding home study course, although you would be expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy.

Part A:
Unit 1: Mental Health and Mental Health Issues
Unit 2: Introduction to Duty of Care in Health, Social Care or Children's and Young Peoples’ Settings
Unit 3: Valuing Equality and Diversity
Part B:
Unit 4: Approaches to Care and Management in Mental Health
Unit 5: Understanding Change and Support in Relation to Mental Health
You must successfully complete a series of activities and assessments. Once all assessments and activities have been completed, you will then be awarded your certificate. The good news is, there is no final exam.
