Who should enrol
Anyone climbing trees 'professionally' (i.e. Where the NPTC certificate is required). Operators who are working in arboriculture (e.g. Western Power or tree surgery) will require the separate NPTC test.

Operatives must have a certificate of competence.

Assessment
Separate practical assessment with questions (about 3 - 4 hours) on a day following the end of the course - the application process normally take between 2 & 4 weeks but can be arranged sooner in some cases

Validity
Valid for up to 5 years then requiring a refresher only with no assessment.

Pre-requisites
NPTC units CS30, CS31& CS38, All trainees must be over 17 years of age and in good health. Persons with certain ailments or on certain medication may not be able to take part in the practical sessions. Attendees must be able to work at heights. First Aid qualification recommended.

What should I bring to the course?
Chainsaw helmet, Chainsaw gloves, Steel toe-capped Chainsaw workboots, Chainsaw trousers (Type C). Also Chainsaw in good working order, tools & manual, 12mm Rope - 40m, Climbing Harness, whip tails, Karabinas (triple action x 5) Fuel / Oil, Felling Level, First Aid Kit, 2 passport photo`s
