CHARCOAL MAKING: PRACTICAL AND THEORETICAL
Saturday 4th October
A local woodsman will teach you about different styles of charcoal making, and investigate the possibility of producing gas as a by-product. Learn the history of charcoal in woodland management and the future in carbon sequestration with CAT’s own Peter Harper. The day will begin with a lecture and then you will be guided through the practicalities.
Course timings
The course begins at 10.30am and finishes at 5pm, with a break for lunch at 1pm.
Please meet in the restaurant from 10am.
What to bring
We advise that you bring weatherproof clothes and sturdy footwear.
You are welcome to bring a packed lunch, or you can purchase a meal from CAT’s wholefood vegetarian restaurant.
