Overview At a glance Work in the children's services sector as a qualified early childhood education and care educator at a senior level providing high quality care and education for the next generation. This qualification reflects the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. They work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other staff.
Course Summary for Bridging Teacher CHC50113 Diploma Students
A customised Early Childhood Bridging Program has been developed to assist registered primary teachers to upgrade their qualifications to deliver programs across a variety of early childhood education and care settings. This program acknowledges that people with primary teaching qualifications have already gained many of the critical skills and knowledge necessary to work as a qualified educator. The Bridging Program maps the current Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50113) to the Australian Professional Standards for teachers to produce industry endorsed matrices of credit transfer and gap training requirements for each unit of competency. This program can be undertaken externally and completed through six self paced and flexible study clusters.

Offerings Distance Education
This course is available by Distance Education
Distance students require strong self motivation and must have 6-8 hours per week available for study for each unit. This course is self paced so students must have sound literacy and numeracy skills. This course is delivered by distance education so students must have access to a computer and the internet.
