What will I study?
This course is the Chef's Diploma. This includes training
towards a number of important awards: the Foundation Food Hygiene
certificate, key skills certificates, Welcome Host and Level 1 Food
Service units. Students also work at functions, both inside and
outside the College, often with high profile visitors present. This
is an excellent training programme, with experienced teachers and
well-resourced learning environments. The hospitality school has
CoVE status and has won two prestigious national awards:
Hospitality Assured and the Beacon Award.

You will need to come for an interview and will be asked to take

How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by a portfolio of evidence, practical observation
and question and answer sessions. Students meet regularly with
tutors to help plan studies and discuss progress.
What can I do next?
This can lead to further education at Lewisham College studying
for the Chef's Diploma Stage 2; NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Professional
Cookery and employment in kitchen work as a commis chef, contract
catering and work overseas.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
