Unit 4 - Child ProtectionThe following topics are covered: Types, signs and symptoms of child abuse; Helping children to protect themselves against abuse; Procedures to follow in cases of child abuse; and Caring for children who have suffered abuse.
Unit 5 - Tackling BullyingThe following topics are covered: An overview of the bully; An overview of the victim; Recognising the different types of bullying; Understanding why bullying happens; and Dealing with incidents of bullying.

Unit 9 - Children's Rights & Anti-Discriminatory PracticeThe following topics are covered: Exploring children's rights; Exploring anti-discriminatory practice; and Exploring the effects of discrimination.
Unit 10 - Working in Partnership with ParentsThe following topics are covered: Exploring the different types of families; Working together to provide for children's development and well being; and Communication between the childcare practitioner, parents and school.
Assessment:
You will be assessed on coursework which is detailed in the course materials. Most coursework consists of short paragraph answers to set questions. Your work can be sent back to your course tutor by email or by post.
