Course description Advancing your skills and knowledge step by step, this Level 3 course will help you complete an Award, Certificate and finally a Diploma qualification to prepare you for a career working with children from birth to five years old, and enable you to secure a job as an Early Years Educator. You'll be covering a wide range of topics to get a thorough understanding of how children develop, right from conception through to about seven years old. You'll look at topics around their health, their needs, their wellbeing, and how they play and learn. As you'll be working in real, early years environments for parts of the certificate and diploma levels of this course, you'll also be developing a number of key employability skills. You'll look at observation, assessment and planning requirements, best professional practices, how to support emergent literacy and mathematics, and how to prepare for school readiness. Each topic will prepare you for a successful career in childcare and education.

3. Entry requirements You'll need to have at least 5 GCSE grades at A* - C, including a C or above in English and a D or above in Maths to enrol on this Level 3 course. Some previous experience working with children would also be helpful. Alternatively, you'll need to have a completed a full Level 2 Childcare qualification, with a pass grade or above. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method All units on this course will be assessed internally by your tutor, and will use a range of method to check your skills are developing appropriately, including both written tasks and practical assignments. For the Certificate and Diploma qualifications, you will complete some externally assessed tasks.
