This apprenticeship could see you working in a nursery looking after children under the age of 5 or even working for yourself in your home as a childminder. So if you can think on your feet and are good at organising and planning imaginative activities this could be the apprenticeship for you. Apprentices will be responsible for making sure children are looked after, kept active, happy and nourished and help children develop social and practical skills. This Apprenticeship gives you a fulfilling opportunity to work with children and young people while also gaining an understanding into the ‘hows’ and ‘whys’ of their development.

Entry Requirements

Entry criteria varies depending on the framework that you are studying and the needs of the employer, however a good level of secondary education is expected and many employers expect you to have maths and English GCSE at a C/4 grade or above. Employers also look for skills like motivation, good interpersonal skills, good communication skills and a willingness to learn and will set their own specifications depending on the role.
