Who is the course for?
This NVQ is aimed at candidates working in a supervised capacity in face to face roles with children and families.

What is the course about?
There are seven units in total, 6 Mandatory and 1 Optional
Contribute to positive relationships (Mandatory)
Help to keep children safe (Mandatory)
Support childrens development (Mandatory)
Use support to develop own practice in childrens care, learning and development (Mandatory)
Prepare and maintain environments to meet childrens needs (Mandatory)
Support childrens play and learning (Mandatory)
Contribute to the effectiveness of teams (Optional)
Support the development of babies and children under 3 years (Optional)
Support a child with disabilities or special educational needs (Optional)
Support children and young peoples play (Optional)

Will I need anything else?
LSC funded subject to status and locality with course fees of 550.

How long & often do I attend?
Start Date: Throughout the year.

How will I be assessed?
A Riverside College Halton assessor visits your place of work on a regular basis to support and conduct work based assessments.

What opportunities will this lead to?
Successful candidates may wish to progress onto a higher level NVQ depending on their job role.
