Course programme

The ability to cope with the knowledge requirements of the course at Level 2, and the opportunity to generate evidence of competence in the workplace with good level of literacy and numeracy. Your work placement needs to be within settings for children and young people.


Classes in college cover a range of interesting topics including child development, play, health and safety, Safeguarding, creativity and personal development. Learners will receive ongoing support from a college tutor and an assessor who will visit the work place setting.


Successful candidates can seek employment within the childrens workforce in a supporting role or progress on to the Level 3 Diploma if you are seeking greater responsibility.


This course requires learners to have possession of a clear enhanced police check known as a DBS check. This costs in the region of £44. the college will help you with the completion of the DBS application form prior to enrolment.
