2. Course description An essential food hygiene qualification required for all people who are handling food i.e. food retailers, manufacturers, staff in hotels and restaurants. Within this course, awarded by CIEH (Chartered Institute of Environmental Health), the following units will be studied: -Microbiology -Food poisoning outbreaks and recent trends -Cleaning -Personal hygiene -Equipment & premises hygiene -Food handling and storage -Pests & vermin -Legislation There is a multichoice examination to be taken at the end of the course. An essential qualification required for all people who are handling food i.e. food retailers, manufacturers, staff in hotels and restaurants.
