Teaching and Learning
The tutors will be food safety enforcement officers from East Hampshire District Council and you will learn through short-topic based lectures.

Assessment details
Assessment is a multiple-choice examination which is taken at the end of the day. Papers are available in some other languages but must be requested at least 2 weeks before the start of the course to avoid an additional charge.

For people with learning difficulties a spoken form of the examination is also available.

After passing the examination you will receive, in approximately eight weeks, a CIEH Certificate Level 2 Award Food Safety in Catering.

Progression
CIEH Level 3 in Food Safety in Catering (not currently offered at Alton College).

Notes
Cost includes £12.50 examination fee, £4 C.I.E.H. course book and morning coffee, snack lunch and afternoon tea.
