Course AimsThe Food Hygiene (Wales) Regulations 2006 state, œThe proprietor of a food business shall ensure that food handlers engaged in the food business are supervised and instructed and/or trained in food hygiene matters commensurate with their work activity. The Catering Guide to Good Hygiene Practice suggests that in order to comply with this requirement, œall food handlers must receive written or verbal instruction in the essentials of food hygiene before they start work and additional hygiene awareness instruction within four weeks of statutory work.

Target Audience

This course has been designed for all employees in food industries and services who require a basic understanding of food safety, in compliance with both an organisations safety policy and current food safety legislation.

Course Duration

This course is normally delivered over one day (6 hours). Delegates who successfully complete the assessment are awarded a CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety certificate. Candidates can progress to the CIEH Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety.
