This course has replaced the Intermediate Certificate in Supervising Health and Safety
Duration:
3 days or 20 hours on a modular basis including a 2 hour multiple choice exam.
Course Profile:
This course is aimed at supervisors, owners, team leaders or managers who are responsible for health and safety. Supervisors have a legal and moral responsiblity to look after the health and safety of employees. This qualification looks more deeply into general health and safety from a supervisory perspective and enables them to be in a better position to influence, monitor and train their staff to improve the health and safety culture.

Course Objectives:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
· To have an understanding of the main causes of accidents and ill health in the workplace and identify suitable control measures to prevent them
· Understand the legal responsibilities of individuals, employees, supervisors and managers
· Undertake a risk assessment and ensure appropriate control measures are implemented
· Explain the role of the supervisor in monitoring, motivating and training employees in health and safety
